Town & Country Constructs 20' Tall Pink Ribbons For Huntington Memorial Hospital Display
To help promote Breast Cancer Awareness during the month of October, Pasadena's Huntington Memorial Hospital called upon Town & Country Event Rentals for some help in constructing the iconic pink ribbon into a display for the exterior of the hospital.
The initial vision of the Hospital's Director of Public Relations, Andrea Stradling, was to wrap the newly renovated, eight-story hospital towers with giant sized pink ribbons and bows. Always up for a challenge, Pasadena-resident, president and owner of Town & Country Event Rentals, Richard LoGuercio, met with Sradling and many of the engineering staff at the hospital to explore possibilities.
Wind issues, eight floors above ground, and possible damage to the surface of the brand new towers, were all factors in deciding the best way for the hospital to display its support for breast cancer awareness month.
After several meetings and site inspections, Town & Country's solution was to fabricate a giant 20' tall, 3-D, pink breast cancer ribbon constructed from a 200 pound piece of poly carbonate, which would be reinforced with steel and hung three stories high from the hospitals flag pole. To illuminate both towers, Town & Country mounted high powered lighting equipment fitted with custom gobo patterns to project 18' tall pink ribbons on the eight story facade for all to see on the evening skyline.
To top it all off, LoGuercio's crew hung custom printed pink ribbons on the eighteen light posts that line the hospitals main driveway.
Town & Country admits that this project was a bit "out of the box" of what they normally do, but were happy to help the hospital in commemoration of the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
